Pauline Johnstone has a degree in medical microbiology and 30 years’ experience in industry. She qualified as Qualified Person under the permanent provisions in 2013 and currently supports the ATMP and biologicals arena in both commercial and clinical trial settings.

Having started her career in 1989 as company microbiologist with Johnson & Johnson manufacturing sterile medical devices, she has fulfilled a number of roles in the pharmaceutical sector including QC, validation and QA.

After spending some years with a global engineering company providing design and build services to the pharmaceutical sectors where she was employed in commissioning and validation activities for both API and finished product sites, Ms. Johnstone moved to the Scottish Blood Transfusion Service where she was responsible for managing its internal and external audit program.
